Over the past 2 yrs have benefited from the following services: Dexa, Fit3D, and RMR test. All very much worth while but the new service that changed my life is Emsculpt Neo. I had back problems to the point I couldn't lift objects and had to switch to stick curling because I couldn't get down in the hack to deliver the rock. After 6 weeks of treatment this fall I am able to lift objects, do yard work, slide out to deliver curling rocks, play pickleball, pick up my 18 month grandson and play with him. At 70 yrs it is to young to simply sit by the window and count cars all day. Melina & Erica, thank-you so much. You have given me my life back. Service, connaissances et professionalisme exceptionnels. Ma vie est revenue à la normale. Merci beaucoup.

Weight Management Support

Weight management is not always as simple as eating less or exercising more. Hormones, stress, medical conditions, lifestyle demands, metabolism, and eating patterns can all affect your ability to lose, gain, or maintain weight.

With so much conflicting nutrition advice online, it can be hard to know what actually works for your body. Our registered dietitians help you understand what a healthy weight means for you using evidence-based guidance and real health data. Whether your goal is weight loss, weight gain, or long-term weight maintenance, we’ll help you build realistic food habits that support your health without relying on fad diets or short-term fixes.

Sports Performance Improvements and Body Composition Changes

Nutrition can make a major difference in how you train, recover, build muscle, lose fat, and perform. Whether you are a competitive athlete or looking to improve your strength, endurance, or body composition, our registered dietitian can assess your current eating habits, activity level, goals, and body composition data to create a practical nutrition plan that supports sport-specific fueling, hydration, recovery, and physical performance.

Chronic Disease Nutrition Support

Managing chronic conditions like heart disease, type-2 diabetes, fatty liver disease, and PCOS requires more than medication. It requires smart nutrition choices. We offer education and support on chronic disease management and prevention. Depending on your health condition and readiness, our top-rated Winnipeg Dietitian will help enhance your diet to support your lifestyle and manage your condition(s). With the right guidance, you can take charge of your health and prevent future complications.

The Importance Of A Dietitian In Your Health Journey

A Registered Dietitian (RD) is a trained and certified nutrition expert who specializes in providing evidence-based nutrition advice tailored to your unique needs. Unlike general nutritionists, RDs are equipped with advanced training in nutrition science, medical conditions, and dietary therapy to offer personalized recommendations that improve your health and well-being.

The primary advantage of working with a Registered Dietitian is their personalized approach. They take the time to assess your eating habits, understand your health objectives and concerns, and create a plan that fits your lifestyle and preferences. With their in-depth knowledge, dietitians can help you navigate various health challenges, from managing chronic conditions to optimizing sports performance or improving general well-being.

Every individual has unique nutritional needs, and our Expert Winnipeg Dietitian recognizes that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to nutrition. By collaborating with a dietitian, you can develop a customized nutrition plan that aligns with your personal goals, whether it’s managing weight, improving digestion, or achieving better overall health.

Working with a nutritionist or dietitian in Winnipeg ensures you receive professional, science-backed advice that helps you make informed decisions about your diet and health.

How Body Measure builds a plan

Our dietitian starts with your goals, usual eating pattern, activity, health history, medications and practical constraints. Together, you choose food and lifestyle steps that fit your situation. Testing is used when included in your selected service and appropriate for you.

What DEXA and RMR contribute

DEXA estimates body fat, lean soft tissue and bone mineral content. It can show how these measurements are distributed, but it does not directly measure muscle strength or explain why weight has changed. RMR testing estimates energy used at rest. It is one part of total daily energy expenditure, which also includes activity and the energy used to digest food (Open Textbook of Exercise Physiology).

From measurements to a plan

The dietitian considers available results alongside your goals, symptoms, food preferences and daily routine to discuss meal structure, nutrient needs and follow-up. The plan can be adjusted as your health, experience and progress change. A scan or RMR result does not produce an exact calorie target or guarantee weight loss.

Limits and medical review

Hydration can shift DEXA lean-tissue readings (University of Manitoba research). If you are pregnant or might be pregnant, tell the clinic before a DEXA scan (GNMI Medical Imaging). We may recommend review by a physician or nurse practitioner for concerning symptoms, unexpected test findings, medication questions or a suspected medical cause of weight change. Possible eating-disorder symptoms call for appropriate medical and mental-health care (Obesity Canada).

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a doctor’s referral to see a registered dietitian in Winnipeg?

You can book our registered dietitian without a doctor’s referral. Your insurer may require a referral for reimbursement, so check your benefit plan before your first visit. Confirm that it covers your practitioner and whether you need to submit the receipt yourself.

Are registered dietitian appointments covered by insurance?

Some extended health plans reimburse registered dietitian services, but coverage limits and requirements vary. Confirm the annual allowance, any referral requirement and direct-billing arrangements with your insurer and the clinic. A combined package may contain tests that are billed separately from the eligible dietitian consultation.

What is the difference between a dietitian and a nutritionist in Manitoba?

In Manitoba, “dietitian” and “registered dietitian” are protected professional titles. Dietitians must meet training requirements and register with the College of Dietitians of Manitoba. “Nutritionist” is not a protected title in the province. Check the practitioner’s registration when you want regulated nutrition care.

Can a dietitian help with menopause-related fat gain and changing nutrition needs?

Yes. A dietitian can build a practical eating plan around your goals, symptoms, health history and daily routine. The focus can include adequate protein, meal structure and longer-term metabolic and bone health. Nutrition support complements medical care; it does not diagnose hormone problems or guarantee that body fat will fall.

How are DEXA and RMR results used in a nutrition appointment?

DEXA can provide body-composition information, while RMR measures resting energy use. A dietitian can combine these results with your history, activity and food preferences to guide nutrition targets. Neither test dictates a complete diet by itself, and you can discuss whether testing is useful for your particular goal.

What happens at the first dietitian visit, and what does it cost?

Your first dietitian visit takes 90 minutes and costs $190. It includes a review of your medical and social history and a personalized nutrition plan, with DEXA and RMR results reviewed if available. Follow-up visits take 45 minutes and cost $100. In-person and virtual appointments are available.
